Spotlight: Renton Rowing Center
As a 2025 Q3 Program Winner, Renton Rowing Center (RRC) shared how the NK Sports Grant is helping strengthen their mission to provide accessible rowing opportunities for all athletes.
What the Grant Means for RRC
“As a smaller rowing club, RRC aims to keep costs low and accessible to all athletes and often equipment, such as speed coaches, gets put on the back burner. RRC specializes in sculling which gives us the opportunity to get more boats on the water, leaving no athletes on land or in the launch. Speed coaches allow us to keep groups together by giving athletes a set time and distance which helps keep athletes safe. The NK Sports Grant has allowed us to provide a higher level of training for all athletes while helping us keep RRC accessible.”
— Sabrina Paulsen, Renton Rowing Center
“With the NK Sports Grant, we're able to save cost on equipment to provide scholarships to athletes who never thought they could row. When RRC receives grants and donations, it allows us to continue to build our community and get more people on the water.”
— Sabrina Paulsen, Renton Rowing Center

How The Grant Impacts The George Pocock Rowing Foundation
“An NK Sports grant enables us to strengthen fundraising incentives for 26-Point LU participants, inspiring higher levels of engagement and generosity. This investment turns community enthusiasm into real impact — helping more girls access Camp Lucy and experience the confidence, belonging, and opportunity that rowing provides.”
— Nell Aiello, The George Pocock Rowing Foundation
We are incredibly proud of all our 2025 Q3 and Q4 recipients. Their dedication, work ethic, and leadership embody the spirit of the NK Sports Grant Program. We can't wait to see where their passion takes them next.
